A data, celebrada no Brasil, lembra a importante função de ensinar, planejar, executar e coordenar tarefas do setor da educação.
Instituído em 2015, por meio da Lei nº 13.083, o Dia do Pedagogo surge como uma oportunidade de homenagear esses profissionais que tanto se dedicam à formação de crianças e adolescentes.
No Brasil, o termo pedagogo facilmente nos remete aos professores, que atuam em sala de aula, mas os pedagogos também podem atuar como orientadores pedagógicos, administradores e gestores escolares, consultores, coordenadores educacionais, entre outras inúmeras funções permitidas aos profissionais com licenciatura em pedagogia.
